By taking cultural aspects into careful account, we prevent misunderstandings and conflicts that could otherwise jeopardize or even end the children’s continued education.

Children behind closed doors

Many children from marginalized communities in India still live under conditions that are almost inhumane, without any real prospects. Together with the Musahar community — one of the most disadvantaged groups in Bihar — we initiate and support new schools. Our first school was established in Madhubani, the poorest district in India’s poorest state. It not only creates lasting opportunities for children, but also empowers entire village communities to break the cycle of poverty, dependency, and exploitation for good.

In collaboration with the company bee active from Kolkata, we teach school classes about organic beekeeping, run projects with educational and social institutions, and support the establishment and management of beehives. This inspires, imparts skills, and creates diverse income opportunities for the students. We continue to expand these win-win-win effects for the children, bee active, and India Child Care e.V..

With our [L]earn initiative, we bring organic beekeeping directly into schools, villages, and communities. This creates hands-on learning, new sources of income, and inspiration for children, families, and entire regions.

We strengthen connections between people, ideas, and resources On the ground, online, and all the way to marketing the honey. Schools co-invest, take ownership, and secure sustainable income for themselves.

Beyond that, we create internships for students from various disciplines and give private visitor groups the chance to experience our projects firsthand and actively contribute.

School instead
of the streets

The school we initiated in Bhavanipur for around 50 girls and boys aged 5 to 16 creates much more than educational and career opportunities. Boys are no longer left to fend for themselves, nearly helpless, in the big cities. And girls are no longer automatically married off far too early. Because the school has become a powerful beacon for surrounding village communities, nearby areas are now increasingly eager to follow its example.
